Alternative to cows milk: Almond milk!

 

Almonds are so rich in nutrients that they should be a permanent component of our diet. Almond milk is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the little nuts in shakes, creams or with cereal too.

Little seeds of wonder

Almonds ar emore than just extras to snack on. Just 60g a day can have a very positive effect on our health. Almonds contain lots of unsaturated fatty acids as well as high quantities of magnesium, calcium, copper and vitamin B and E.

If we take in enough almonds, after a few months, the sensitivity to insulin can be improved such that a diabetes can be prevented.

Protection for the heart

The unsaturated fatty acids in almonds have a amazing infuence on the health of our hearts. Just 20 g of almonds a day can halve the risk of dying of a cardiovascular disease.

Strengthening of bones

Sufficient almond intake leads to a reduction of osteoclasts (bone destroying cells) by up to 20 percent. The high calcium content also takes care of strengthening of bones and therefore prevents osteoporosis.

Skin protection

Almonds contain Vitamin E which is essential for our skin. Thanks to its antioxidant effect it makes the skin firmer and more elastic: an anti-aging effect. Even a handful of almonds makes our skin look more radiant and healthier.

Support of the digestion system

Almonds have a probiotic effect on our digestion. That means they provide food for the intestinal bacteria, which support our immune system.
